"How do I open the Bag-in-Box?"

You will find illustrated instructions overleaf on the bottom of each Bag-in-Box
Dimensions: height = 27 cmm / width = 23 cm / depth = 10 cm

"How do I open the Bag-in-Wood?" (Wooden Cask)

1.      To make it easier to open the «Bag-in-Wood», insert your fingers into the hole on the front and pull out the front panel

2.      Remove the small wooden support for the exhaust valve located on the inside of the front panel. This will later serve as a distance ring (see under point 7)

3.      Place the bag in the «Bag-in-Wood». Use your hands to help fit the bag into the cask to facilitate complete insertion

4.      Push the outlet valve through the opening and make sure that the open side of the outlet valve is facing down. The valve can be turned in any direction if the rear part is carefully fixed by hand

5.      Make sure that the bag does not come into contact with the side hinges so that the bag is not damaged when the front panel is closed

6.      Insert the front panel by clicking the hinges into their counterparts. Apply only slight pressure to the hinges

7.      Now, without applying pressure, slide the small wooden support as a spacer ring between the outlet valve and the front panel - with the chamfered edge down

8.      Carefully remove the safety device around the outlet valve. To pour your wine, all you have to do now is push down the outlet valve

9.      To open the cover, first remove the small wooden support and then push the outlet valve inward at a 90° angle. Caution: if there is still wine in the bag, it may escape if you push the outlet valve downwards at the same time. Then proceed as described in point 1 and below

N.B.

·         The hinges are set to the maximum «Bag-in-Wood» capacity. The hinge screws can be adjusted with a screwdriver

·         Always leave the front panel clicked into the cask. Irrespective of whether there is a bag inside or not

·         Inside the «Bag-in-Wood» you will find a small wooden knob with a screw. This can, but does not have to, be attached to the front panel from the outside and is intended to facilitate the removal of the front panel

·         Do not expose the «Bag-in-Wood» to direct sunlight and keep it protected from rain

"Wine from the Tetra Pak can only be bad quality"

Of course, our quality wine is not bottled in Tetra Pak packaging, but in bags* specially produced for this purpose, which are then placed in a carton for optical reasons and for labelling reasons which are legally mandatory. This turns the product into so-called bag-in-box wine.
 * The bags are basically two-ply. The inner film layer with product contact always consists of 50my polyethylene (PE). The second layer is an outer foil laminated with aluminium or vaporised with aluminium for oxygen-sensitive products such as wine with a high oxygen barrier.

Our Bag-in-Box wines are selected top-quality products from renowned winegrowers with many years of family tradition. All wines offered by us correspond to bottle quality. Our winegrowers have filling equipment for traditional glass bottles with cork closures as well as for bag filling. The contents are the same. Only the Italian wine law forces us to declassify the labels. Wines that are not bottled are not allowed to bear a quality label such as DOC or DOCG. Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita, abbreviated DOCG (Italian for Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin) is an Italian, state-controlled denomination of origin for wines.

"I won't open a bottle for myself."

To ring in the evening at home with a good glass of wine has something relaxing about it. Just opening a bottle of wine prevents many connoisseurs from doing so. Here comes the good news. The wine from the bag-in-box remains fresh for up to six months after opening because it is air- and aroma-tight in a bag developed for this purpose and the tap prevents contact with oxygen so that the wine cannot oxidize.

"She prefers white wine, I prefer red wine. I always have to agree on red or white with my partner".

Do you know it? So or the other way around? This problem is now a thing of the past. Because our fine wines are made for individualists with a high demand on wine quality. All our wines are offered by our producers also in bottles. However, we do not bottle the grapes in glass bottles, but in our containers and can thus achieve a decisive advantage over the conventional method. The wine from the bag-in-box remains fresh for up to six months after opening because it is air- and aroma-tight in a bag developed for this purpose and the tap prevents contact with oxygen so that the wine cannot oxidise.

"A beautiful bottle of red wine decorates the table"

You're absolutely right about that. That is exactly how we see it. But let's put our hands on our hearts. Actually, as with everything in life, it's all about the content and not the packaging. All our wines are offered by our producers also in bottles. The Bag-in-Box wine does not differ therefore in any way from the bottle quality. Take the test yourself. Serve the wine for your guests in a carafe and nobody will accuse you of a difference in quality.

"What do my guests think of me when I offer them wine from the box?"

Bag-in-box wine is in keeping with the spirit of the times. Top quality at reasonable prices. In Scandinavia, Australia and New Zealand as well as in the USA, bag-in-box wine has been offered for many years and has found its permanent place in the household. All our wines are offered by our producers also in bottles. The Bag-in-Box wine therefore does not differ in any way from the bottle quality. Serve the wine for your guests in a carafe and nobody will accuse you of a difference in quality.

"For a bigger party the cardboard wine may just be fine."

With our Bag-in-Box wines you decide every party for yourself. All our wines are offered by our producers also in bottles. The bag-in-box wine therefore does not differ in any way from the bottle quality. Serve the wine for your guests in carafes and no one will accuse you of a difference in quality or simply put up our decorative noble drop boxes and let the guests serve themselves.

"How do I dispose of the used bag-in-boxes?

You dispose of the bag-in-box carton with the carton removal, the bag in the household refuse.

"What are the benefits of bag-in-box wine?"

The advantages are manifold. First of all, you get top bottle quality at a very advantageous price and with a long life. Here is a brief summary for you:

  • A 5-litre bag-in-box corresponds to 6 2/3 wine bottles
  • Converted you pay around or under CHF 10 for a wine bottle with 0.75 litre content
(does not apply to products of "edeltropfen séléction")
  • A storage technology that keeps the wine fresh for six (6) months
(A prerequisite for this is proper storage. Do not expose directly to the sun, if possible
no temperature fluctuations, storage between 8 and 18° Celsius)
  • Volume and weight are halved compared to the same amount of product in bottles
Ideal wherever space and weight savings as well as waste minimisation are important
(mobile home, boat, holiday apartment, camping, outdoor party, club house etc.)
  • The walk to the waste glass container is no longer necessary.
  • Easy disposal via carton removal and household sweepings
  • "Empty Drinking" is no longer necessary. The consumer decides how much wine he wants to enjoy
  • Even as a single person you can simply drink a glass of wine
  • Individualists get their money's worth. No adjustment in wine selection
"My partner costs a glass of white wine and I a glass of red wine". Bottles stay closed
  • Also enjoy with two wine companions. Rosé as aperitif, white with fish, red with meat.
  • Also ideal for older wine lovers. Minimum logistics, maximum freedom
  • Top quality wine from hand-picked winegrowers from selected regions

We only work with hand-picked producers who, in addition to traditional bottling facilities, also have bottling facilities for bag-in-box wines. In this way we ensure that we can offer you as a consumer only the best wine quality from leading winegrowers. Our bag-in-boxes, designed as a high-quality wine box, are sold with conviction under the title "noble wines".
Since we have our own bottling facilities and do not act as dealers for existing products, we are in a position to offer you very favourable prices for high-quality wines. Converted to the contents of a 0.75 litre wine bottle, you usually pay us around or less than CHF 10. But see for yourself.
